Den ikoniske superhelten Wonder Woman er kjent for de fleste og filmen som kom i 2017 gjorde all tvil rundt hvorvidt en film om en kvinnelig superhelt kunne gjøre det bra på kino til skamme. Men kjenner du til den utrolige historien som ligger bak? Psykologen William Moulton Marston og hans kone Elizabeth jobber sammen på Harvard der Elizabeth ikke blir hørt av ledelsen fordi hun er kvinne. Når de finner en assistent i studenten Olive faller begge for henne, og etter mange runder med personlige innrømmelser og vanskelige valg, ender de opp i et polyamorøst forhold. Og Wonder Woman? Hun er en kombinasjon av de to kvinnene i Marstons liv – ifølge ham selv «den perfekte kvinnen». Dette er absolutt et av fjorårets undervurderte høydepunkter!

Iconic Wonder Woman became well-known to most of us in 2017, when the film was released which removed all doubt whether a film with a female superhero could ever perform well in theaters. But do you know the real story? Psychologist William Moulton Marston and his wife Elizabeth work together at Harvard. Here the board are not interested in hearing Elizabeth’s ideas because she is a woman. When they hire the student Olive as their assistant they both fall in love with her, and after several rounds of personal doubts and difficult choices they end up in a polyamorous relationship. And Wonder Woman? She is a combination of the two women in Marston’s life – according to him “the perfect woman”. Without a doubt one of the most underrated highlights of the last year!
